60th Anniversary Patch

60th Anniversary Patch

The lodge is celebrating its 60th year of service this year (1948-2008) and has designed this special-edition lodge flap for the occasion. It was designed from the lodge's first issued patch from 1948, a round patch commonly referred to as "R1." Only 200 of these flaps were produced, and the supply has been selling extremely quickly. Once these patches are gone, no more will be ordered or produced. Download the order form here and mail it in as soon as possible to ensure you get a piece of the limited quantity ordered.

Fall Fellowship

August 16-17, 2008

For those not attending the Section NE-3B Conclave, the lodge will be holding its annual Fall Fellowship at Camp Henderson. Due to the change in the high school calendars, the fellowship and the date for Conclave were both the same. It is hoped that the conclave is moved from August to a different date to accomodate our lodge's new date for our fall fellowship.

Since as of now we do not have a high enough Brotherhood Conversion percentage (see our by the numbers page for more information) to be considered for Quality Lodge, we will be offering both the Ordeal and Brotherhood ceremonies for candidates and Ordeal members alike to participate in. See our media directory for more information regarding the schedule for this year's Fall Fellowship.

2008 Section NE-3B Conclave

August 15-17, 2008

The last NE-3B Conclave will be held at Camp Tuscarora in Windsor, NY from August 15th to the 17th. Nine members of the lodge have signed up for the event, and will enjoy captivating shows, fantastic traning cells, and other excellent events. The theme for this year's Conclave is Lucky 7's - Seven Lodges United, which is even more important during this time of section and area realigments.

Spring Fellowship

June 6-7, 2008

June 6th and 7th marked the 2008 Spring Fellowship Weekend at Camp Henderson. This is the first opportunity for the Brotherhood ceremony for Arrowmen, where they can seal their membership in the Order after serving in their troops for 10 months. Seventeen Ordeal members attended the Spring Fellowship, as well as a host of other members that came up just to provide cheerful service in readying Camp Henderson's infrastructure for the winter. We appreciate all the help everyone gave in working all apsects of the Spring Fellowship weekend and look forward to your support next year as well.

Onteroraus Arrowmen Elected to Section Office

May 10, 2008

Due to a vacancy in an unexpired term, Matt Lacy was nominated and elected to the position of Section NE-3B Secretary at the Council of Chiefs Onsite meeting in Windsor, NY. Matt will hold this office until the conclusion of the 2008 Section NE-3B Conclave Busniess Meeting. Congratulations, Matt!

Winter Fellowship

March 1, 2008

The annual Winter Fellowship was held March 1st and 2nd at the Oneonta YMCA. It was a night filled with friendship, brotherhood, and of course Domino's pizza at midnight. In all, over 40 people attended the event and enjoyed the "championship games" of volleyball, wallyball, and basketball played throughout the night. Arrowmen also enjoyed the use of the YMCA's pool for part of the night.

2007 Annual Report

November 15, 2007

Lodge Chief Zak West went before the Otschodela Council Executive Board on November 15th and delivered the lodge's annual report. This is a required component of the lodge's National Quality Lodge petition, and gives the council feedback as to how the lodge is doing and if either the lodge or council needs to do more to help the other. You can view the 2007 Annual Report by going to our media directory.

Fall Fellowship (Ordeal Weekend)

August 12, 2007

The annual Fall Fellowship was held August 11th and 12th at Henderson, and marked the conclusion of the past year of lodge operations, as well as the promise of the year to come. Overall, it was a successful year for the lodge, based on the points outlined below:

  • Out of 80 Arrowmen inducted in 2006, 43 people returned this year to complete their Brotherhood.
  • Our Brotherhood Conversion rating for this year is 64%, more than twice the national average.
  • We inducted 56 new Ordeal members this weekend

Spring Fellowship

June 09, 2007

June 8th and 9th marked the 2007 Spring Fellowship Weekend at Camp Henderson. This is the first opportunity for the Brotherhood ceremony for Arrowmen, where they can seal their membership in the Order after serving in their troops for 10 months. In all, over 65 people attended this year's fellowship weekend, as well as 40 of the 60 Arrowmen that went through their Ordeal in the fall of 2006. Because of this, each of the nine Elangomats ("friends") to the Ordeal members received special recognition for their efforts in not only promoting Brotherhood to their Arrowmen, but encouraging them to take the step and accept the challenge.

2007-2008 Officers Elected

June 09, 2007

Officers were also elected for the August 2007-August 2008 lodge year at the Spring Fellowship. The 2007-2008 Lodge Executive Committee is as follows:

  • Lodge Chief: Zak West
  • Lodge Vice-Chief: Codie Marsh
  • Lodge Secretary: Matt Lacy

These new officers will shadow those already holding the positions and will assume full responsibility of the position in August.

At the close of the lodge meeting, the lodge's current Vigil members selected Arrowmen as Vigil Honor Candidates. These Arrowmen have shown outstanding and exemplary service and dedication to promoting the traditions of the Order in their everyday lives. This honor is bestowed by special selection and is limited to one person for every 50 members registered with the lodge each year.
